Southernmost Rosh Chodesh Circle

What is a Rosh Chodesh Circle?
Rosh Chodesh Women’s Circles have been gathering for 3 ½ thousand years.
The holiday was given to women on Mt Sinai as the Children of Israel waited for Moses to descend with the written
version of the Words of G*d, which they had individually and collectively heard & experienced.
Over a month had passed, and a group of men began to wonder, Think----  cogitate----  ruminate----
Of course G*d created us with gray cells, and thinking, questioning, cognitive challenge, and mental wrestling is
encouraged--- in fact has become the Jewish contact sport!
But you see- the Word of G*d- at Mt. Sinai was as palpable as the chair you are sitting on.
If I said to you tomorrow, “perhaps your perceptions were wrong---- perhaps you only imagined that there was a chair”
I would be suspected of excessive rumination!
This group of men ruminated excessively to the point of doubting their own experience.
Feeling a need for something tangible,  the idea of a Golden Calf was conceived.
The men went to the women and asked for contributions of gold jewelry to be melted down to make the idol.
But the women refused to participate in the folly of excessive rumination, refused to donate their jewelry to a false G*d.
In the merit of this conviction of belief, of trust in the hidden light,
the gift of Rosh Chodesh was transferred from the 12
Patriarchal Tribes- - - to WOMEN.
The format for Rosh Chodesh gatherings are as varied as the participants.
The focus is on the inner wisdom  which precedes expression,
and on renewal, because the moon is renewal.
The gatherings usually assume a structure: candlelighting, meditation, prayers, songs, wine, sharing, and of course nosh.
I invite this community of women to formulate Rosh Chodesh gatherings that are relevant and meaningful to us.
