Hi Y'All!
Shalom from the Southernmost Rabbi and Rebbetzen!
How We Met
We were acquantices at Shlomo Carlebach's
House of Love and Prayer in 1970. While
becoming more observant in Judaism, we
eventually each went on separate but strangely
parallel paths. We rediscovered one another
online at frumster.com in 2004, and started
planning our Key West wedding! Between the
two of us we have 15 beautiful children.
My search for spiritual integrity began early in life.
The Reform Judaism I was taught left so many questions
and unfulfilled thoughts. My dear mother Debby, may she
be healthy, introduced me to meditation and spirituality.
I searched in Eastern religions but was not satisfied
spiritually. During my searchings, a Zen monk suggested
that I re-examine my own heritage.
I went to the House of Love and Prayer, and met Rabbi
Shlomo Carlebach, who touched my soul with his love for
Judaism, G*d and his fellow man.
I began to observe the Torah way of life, and wanted
to live the real thing. I attended Lubavitch in Los Angeles,
and later in New York where I attended a women's
Yeshiva and Teacher’s College, which I graduated from in
1972. While in school there I was introduced to a Torah
scholar Mr S. Kaplan, and we were married.
Sadly the marriage ended in divorce after 29 years.

Nevertheless those years were full of life, growing
spiritually, giving life. I have been blessed with 10
beautiful incredible children and we lived for 18 years in
Israel.
- I became a Registered Nurse, and through
advanced nursing courses at Columbia University
in New York became a Certified Nurse Midwife. I
have delivered over 1500 babies in the USA and in
Israel. I also managed a private Midwifery practice
in Brooklyn in which I provided customized care to
pregnant women from 1996-2001.
- During that time I also was a medical consultant for
Rabbis (Isha Bodeket), and counseled and taught
brides, grooms, and newlyweds.
- Over the years I also have worked on various
community projects such as organizing services
for handicapped children in Northern Israel,
starting a used clothing exchange to finance those
services, helping set up services for new mothers
in Israel, donating professional services to the
Bikur Cholim Society (assisting the sick), and
teaching new brides and grooms.
- I have also taught and tutored grade school and
middle school children, and was a consultant for
the Family Learning Center in Key West, and
started the Key West Rosh Chodesh Circle..
We now live in Boca Raton, Florida, and I am a Certified
Nurse Midwife and Nurse Pracrtitioner at the Miami
Maternity Center.
